Mangos: Caribbean Restaurant

“Don’t worry about a thing, because every little thing is going to be alright…”

That’s the exact impression that you’ll have here at Mangos; relaxed, vibrant, Caribbean decor where you can kick your shoes off and let your hair down while enjoying a decadent meal and a thirst quenching drink.

Mangos is actually new to the Charlotte area and is located in the NoDa (North Davidson) region. They just recently opened up six months ago and have drawn many locals to their modern Caribbean cuisine. I had the pleasure of indulging in their toothsome authentic dishes. So let’s dig in!

The Mango Mojito. I’m not much of an imbiber, but when I do tend to go out on the town I enjoy pairing my delicious feasts with a tasty sip. This enlivening drink has sweet and subtle mango flavors that are accompanied by a tart pineapple nectar and hints of minty fresh herbs, that delights the pallet with every mellifluous swig.

Curried Chicken with rice and beans, grilled vegetables, and a citrusy salad never tasted so good! The savory spices of turmeric, cumin, and bay leaves gives the chicken an earthy flavor along with sweet notes of cinnamon and cloves really makes this dish warm and comforting. Rice and beans is always a classic side that compliments any curry dish. The brown rice sends highlights of rich nuttiness while the beans deliver a creamy smooth texture to the overall course. Tenderly cooked grilled vegetables bring more of those sweet earthy flavors. And lastly, the citrus filled salad lightens the whole dish with bright tangy flavors that cut through those rich savory bites allowing you to nourish every piquant bite until the very last.

All in all, Mangos is a relaxed vibrant Caribbean cuisine that packs island zest in every dish. Cuisine that matches the decor of the restaurant so effortlessly, making each experience as if you dived straight into the heart of Caribbean lifestyle. This is a great way to end a stressful day or even an eventful outing with your friends or significant other, you can find yourself here at Mangos laughing and enjoying a plate of quality traditional Caribbean cuisine.
